kitchen paint colors

There are certain aspects that have to be taken into account when your are going for the selection of kitchen paint colors. They have been discussed below:

The size and shape of the kitchen plays a major role in choosing the color. If the kitchen is small, you should select such colors that make it look more spacious and open. For a long and narrow room, the long walls should be painted with light colors and paint dark colors on the short walls. Painting the ceiling with a light color will add to its height and give an open feel to the kitchen. The paint colors should highlight the unique architectural features of the room. If your kitchen has crown molding or an arched window, you have to give them a contrasting effect so that they improves the visual interest of the room. If you do not have any such special features in the room, you can treat one of the walls as an accent wall and paint it a bit differently. In all these cases, you have to use more than one colors on your kitchen walls.

When you have decided to paint the walls, the color should match up well with other existing colors of the kitchen. You have to consider the color of kitchen cabinets, kitchen floor tiles, kitchen appliances and kitchen backsplash and so on. Thus, you can give a uniform look to the kitchen.
